വല്ലപ്പുഴ സർവ്വീസ് കോ-ഓപ്പറേറ്റീവ് ബാങ്ക് എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ഈ സ്‌ഥാപനം 30-07-1946 ൽ വല്ലപ്പുഴ പി. സി. സി സൊസൈറ്റി ആയി പ്രവർത്തനം ആരംഭിക്കുകയും,1950-55 കാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ റേഷൻ വ്യാപാരം നിർത്തലാക്കപ്പെട്ടപ്പോൾ.പി സി സി സൊസൈറ്റികളുടെ പ്രവർത്തനം നിലച്ചതിനെ തുടർന്ന് 01-07-1956 മുതൽക്ക് വല്ലപ്പുഴ പി. സി. സി സൊസൈറ്റി ഒരു റൂറൽ ബാങ്കാക്കി മാറ്റി പ്രവർത്തനം ആരംഭിക്കുകയും തുടർന്ന് 1959ൽ വല്ലപ്പുഴ അഗ്രിക്കൾച്ചർ ബാങ്കാക്കിമാറ്റുകയും, പിന്നീട് 02-05-1961 ൽ ഒരുസർവ്വീസ് സഹകരണ ബാങ്കാക്കി ഒറ്റപ്പാലം താലൂക്കിലെ നെല്ലായ ആസ്ഥാനമായി രജിസ്‌റ്റർ ചെയ്യുകയും, 03-07-1961 ൽ വല്ലപ്പുഴ സർവ്വീസ് സഹകരണ ബാങ്ക് ലിമിറ്റഡ് നമ്പർ എഫ് 1207 നെല്ലായ പിഒ.പ്രവർത്തനം ആരംഭിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
